Robert H. Wilder, Jr.
Robert H. Wilder, Jr. is Chairman of Wilder Balter Partners, Inc. He has more than 35 years of experience in the real estate development industry. Mr. Wilder is also a principal of Griffon Associates, Inc., WBP’s construction management firm, and a principal of WB Residential Communities, Inc., WBP’s property management firm. Prior to forming WBP, Mr. Wilder was the sole shareholder of Wilder Property Companies, Inc. which was formed in 1988. Before forming his own development company, Mr. Wilder was a principal and founder of Wilder Richman Corporation and affiliates formed in 1979 and prior to that, he was an Executive Vice President and shareholder in Related Housing Companies. Throughout his career, Mr. Wilder has focused his planning, finance, construction and development skills on the creation of affordable housing. Having developed and re-developed in excess of 4,000 affordable housing units in five states and the Virgin Islands, he is a recognized industry leader in affordable housing finance. Mr. Wilder holds a Bachelors Degree in Economics from the University of Michigan and a Masters of Business Administration from Columbia University. Bob lives in Stanfordville, New York and New York City.
William G. Balter
William G Balter is President of Wilder Balter Partners, Inc. He has 25 years of experience in the real estate industry. Mr. Balter is also President of Griffon Associates and is a principal of WB Residential Communities. Prior to forming WBP, Mr. Balter was the sole shareholder of Balter Properties Inc. which was formed in 1990 to focus on repositioning troubled developments in the New York metro region. This business plan led to BPI forming joint ventures with Wilder Property Companies to develop housing communities in Nassau County, Dutchess County and Westchester County. As President of Wilder Balter Partners, Inc., he is responsible for new business development and leads the company’s efforts in working with communities through the land use approval process. Mr. Balter holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Skidmore College and a Masters in Real Estate Development from Columbia University. He is on the Board of the Boys and Girls Club of Northern Westchester as well as the advisory board of the Westchester Land Trust. Bill lives in Mount Kisco with his wife Jane and their three teenage daughters.
Gary E. Friedland
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Friedland has more than twenty years of experience in property management, development and affordable housing. Prior to joining Wilder Balter Partners, he was executive vice president of a property management company that specialized in affordable and government-assisted housing. Before entering the private sector, Mr. Friedland served as Assistant Commissioner of the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal for ten years. He has a Bachelor of Arts in economics and political science from Queens College of the City University of New York.
Kathleen H. Rubin
Ms. Rubin oversees WBP’s affordable housing developments throughout the New York metropolitan area. She specializes in affordable housing financing, including underwriting and securing subsidy and grant financing, as well as conventional financing and investor equity. Ms. Rubin oversees the construction process, marketing and leasing phase, and asset management during operations. Prior to joining Wilder Balter Partners, she was the controller for a New York City-based commercial and residential real estate developer. Ms. Rubin has a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a concentration in finance from Bryant University.
John R. Bainlardi
Mr. Bainlardi manages all aspects of the development process for Wilder Balter Partners, from acquisition through construction, including building program and design, governmental approval and financing. Prior to joining the company in 2006, Mr. Bainlardi operated a private law practice in Westchester County, representing clients in commercial and residential real estate and estate planning matters. He also previously managed a family real estate investment and development company in Westchester County. Mr. Bainlardi earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the State University of New York at Albany and a Juris Doctor from New York Law School.
James R. Wendling
Mr. Wendling has worked for Wilder Balter Partners Partners since November 2007. Mr. Wendling oversees new developments from inception to completion, including the planning stage, governmental approval, construction, marketing and financing. Mr. Wendling holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History as well as a Markets and Management Certificate from Duke University, where he attended on a baseball scholarship. He also has been certified by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) as a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP).
